Improved Chat for Facebook will allow you to chat on facebook with a familiar interface.
- Securely login to facebook chat
- Shows Homescreen notifications
- Choose what sound you want to play for a new message in profiles
- Update your facebook status from inside of the application
- Chats save automatically and to delete them you highlight the chat you want to remove and click the BlackBerry® button then press delete selected chat.
- If you feel that your friends list is not updating you can press the "reload" button if you bring up your menu by pressing the BlackBerry® button.
Setting up sounds and vibrate alerts:
- go to your sound profiles, scroll down to "edit profiles", select the profile you would like to edit, scroll down to ""other" and click to expand. Find "fb improved" in the list and click on it. from here you can set the alert tone, volume, vibrate, and many other controls for the application.
Troubleshooting:
- "success"
If you are only seeing "success" on a white page after logging in what you need to do is go to options, advanced options, TCP/IP, and put a check in the top box (APN settings enabled). Do a battery pull on the device and then reopen the application and login.
- Multiple logins
If you are being asked to login multiple times in a row it means that somehow your facebook settings for the chat app are incorrect. What you need to do is go to your facebook account from a PC and go to "Account", "Privacy Settings", in the bottom left of this screen you will see apps and websites, click on "edit my settings" under that title, click on edit settings for "apps you use", on this page you will need to find "FBImprovedChat" and click the 'x' that is next to edit my settings. This will remove the chat app from your account. Now make sure you have completely exited the chat on your device, re-open it and login. You will be prompted to allow access to your facebook and you will need to allow it. After this it will complete the login and load your friends.
- Only seeing headers
If you are only seeing the headers "Chats", "Friends online", and "Friends Idle", please press the BlackBerry® button and choose "reload" it will refresh your friends list.
